
Charles M. Bobula, Jr., age 87, a resident of Niles for many years, died at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights on June 25 2012. He was born on October 9, 1924 to Charles and Elizabeth Bobula of Chicago, IL. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Chuck graduated from St. Michael’s High School, Chicago in 1942. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago (IIT) until April 1943 at which time he served in the United States Army Air Force as Tech Sergeant (B-29s). He was stationed in Okinawa until March 1946. After the war he attended the University of Chicago/Navy Pier. On September 9, 1950, Chuck married Alice Hipsky, R.N. He was accepted into the Niles Fire Department on December 1, 1958. Chuck and his wife Alice were active with the Holiday Rambler Red Cardinal Rollers trailer group and did extensive travelling over the years. Chuck retired from the Fire Department as Deputy Fire Chief in 1981. Chuck resided in Lakemoor, IL for the lasts 10 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Bobula. He is survived by 5 children, Charles M. (Susan) Bobula, III, Janice Bobula, Richard (Nancy) Bobula, Robert (Joann) Bobula, Carol Hamm; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Bobula, Jessica Bobula, Kelly Hamm and nieces, nephews and good friends. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday June 29 at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Niles, IL 60714. Memorial Service will be at 12 Noon on Saturday June 30.
